Yoga and Creative Dance classes for adults BACK IN THE STUDIO FROM 17 May

Yoga is an ancient system of exercise developed to slow down the process of aging and improve physical and mental abilities. It involves the practice of specific postures (asanas), proper breathing, relaxation and positive thinking (meditation).
 
Physical benefits of yoga:  improves flexibility of the spine, tones the muscles, boosts immune system, removes toxins from the body by stimulating the lymphatic system, restores balance, stimulates organs and systems, reduces tension of the muscles, gives energy
 
Mental Benefits of Yoga: improves mood, sense of well being, concentration, focus, memory, attention and learning efficiency; decreases anxiety and depression; increases somatic and kinaesthetic awareness, self-acceptance, self-actualization; brings inner peace

 

​Yoga is a gradual process and it is for everyone, no matter how old you are.  You don’t need to be flexible and fit to start practicing yoga and to enjoy its benefits – you become fit and flexible by practicing yoga. You will be guided to practice at your own level of fitness and ability. By practicing yoga you will gradually improve your overall health and quality of life.

Dance for Women Workshops consist of a gentle warm up, guided dance improvisations and movement meditations exploring different themes and ideas to develop awareness and deeper connection with our own bodies, emotions and world around, developing resources we can use to navigate our daily lives, deal with challenges and feel more alive and present. Dance improves co-ordination, agility, flexibility and creativity, improves fitness, embodiment and spatial awareness; strengthens bones and reduces risk of osteoporosis; helps lose weight whilst having fun and expressing yourself in a friendly atmosphere and the community of supportive women. Come and join our beautiful journey of self-discovery and transformation!

Classes are funded by Westminster Council as a part of Neighbourhood Keepers Regeneration programme in Church Street ward
