If Atoms Could Tell Stories... - work in progress - an interdisciplinary physical theatre performance
This autobiographical performance work deals with identity, loss, memory and nostalgia; with how it is to lose home, family, language, country and make a new life in another place, another country, another language.
“History is not unalterable. Space is complex in how it connects. The universe itself is forked. If we knew how to manipulate space-time, the illusion of our singular linear lives would collapse. And if our lives here are not the total, our death here will not be final.”
This is the story that happened in the future. “Walk with me; hand in hand through this narrative. I need to tell a story where no story can be told.” Jeanette Winterson, Gut Symmetries

Spring Passes
"Spring Passes
Birds cry out -
Tears in the eyes of fishes" (Basho)
In the midst of life we are in death.
Loss, and the passing of youth and time, start to haunt us as the years gather and lend us maturity. But where does this wisdom lead us? Taking its inspiration from a haiku poem by Basho and set to Ivan Božičević’s new composition, Spring Passes explores the changing of the seasons as a metaphor for life, death and rebirth.
Using images from nature and art, Mala CHERGA Theatre has created an evocative, moving and visually arresting piece which examines the sensitivities around desinence and mortality, so often a taboo in Western society. Performed by Typhaine Delaup, Karin Floengard, Lizzie Sells, Marit Vestby. Costumes by Gesa Werner.
